Satyanarayana Prasad Recipe by Gowri Chebbi
Satyanarayana Prasad, a traditional sweet offering, can be made using the following ingredients:
- 1 cup fine rava
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cup ghee
- 1 chopped banana
- 8-10 cashews
- 10-12 raisins
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- ½ tsp of saffron.
To prepare, begin by frying the rava in some ghee until it turns a light brown color, then set it aside. In a separate pan, combine water, milk, sugar, and saffron and bring to a boil. Once boiling, slowly add the fried rava, stirring continuously. Allow it to cook for a bit, then turn off the heat. Stir in the chopped banana and cardamom powder. In a separate small pan, melt 2 teaspoons of ghee and fry the cashews and raisins until they turn light brown. Add these to the Prasad mixture. Serve the prasad warm and enjoy the divine flavor.
